Michael is a registered Architect and Director of Stiffe Hooker Ltd. He started out working part-time in the Whangarei office while studying and joined the Auckland team full-time in 2003. Michael became a director and shareholder in 2015.
With expertise in the commercial sector, Michael has extensive experience in retail developments, supermarkets and community projects. An enthusiastic, creative architect, he is passionate about design. He has also taken the lead with Revit Building Information Modelling (BIM) and more recently, Virtual Reality software. These tools provide virtual simulations and animations of building designs.
Outside work Michael enjoys travelling and exploring works of architecture. Multilingual in Mandarin Chinese and Japanese, he’s visited Japan, Taiwan, China, Greece, Italy and Australia, including the Venice Architecture Biennale and Shanghai World Expo. He also enjoys camping and fishing with the family as well as playing hockey and tennis.
